8/3/10 - National Night Out in Fanwood was a big success!  Local families came out to greet members of the Fire Department, Police Department, Rescue Squad and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).  Kids of all ages enjoyed the opportunity to climb inside Ladder 1, a police cruiser and an ambulance.  Free face painting, popcorn and pizza topped off the night before the weekly movie in La Grande Park!!

6/30/10 and 7/4/10 -Fanwood firefighters responded this past week to 3-Alarm fires in Scotch Plains and Cranford, respectively.  The adjacent photo was taken at the Cranford job.

6/9/10 - Congratulations to Probationary Firefighter Russ Marchica, who graduated from the Union County Fire Academy Wednesday evening.  The ceremony was held at Union County College in Cranford.  In attendance were chiefs from departments throughout the county, as well as fellow firefighters, friends and family.

Memorial Day 2010

May 2010 - Vehicle Extrication Drill

4/3/10 - We wish to extend our deepest thanks and gratitude to Linda Caminiti and everyone else at The Chelsea for hosting another successful Pancake Breakfast.  The food was delicious and fun was had by all!!

4/2/10 - Fanwood Firefighters responded to a kitchen fire at 28 Hunter Avenue at approximately 7:00 pm.  The resident was in her kitchen and heating a pot oil when it suddenly and unexpectedly caught fire.  The fire extended from the stove up to the cabinets above.  Thanks to the quick work of the Fanwood Police and Firefighters, the fire was extinguished before being able to spread beyond the room of origin.  (photos by Scotch Plains-Fanwood Patch)
